Job Description:

Job Summary

Our Clerk IV Scan Operator will provide routine clerical services using standard and specialized equipment and document quality assurance through specialized computer commands.

Characteristics and Responsibilities

  • Scan documents on IBML or other Scanning equipment, rectifies problems manually and automated

  • Quality Assurance and/or verification of claim documents.

  • Re-scanning of documents at QC Stations

  • Perform uploading of claim documents and attachments captured by imaging systems to the mainframe.

  • Performs daily maintenance on various Image Central equipment.

  • Prepare documents for scanning.

  • Sorts and routes documents to appropriate departments

  • Perform various clerical tasks requiring some diversity and application of established procedures.

  • Identify and prep specified internal and external departmental documents in proper order according to established guidelines.

  • Use computer to obtain additional claim/document information as needed.

  • Use computer to navigate/search the training manual for procedures.

  • Prepare and file documents for processing according to defined procedures.

  • Pick up work from various workstations.

  • Shrink wrap pallets of boxed claims/documents for shipping. Transport pallets utilizing hand jacks to designated location.

  • Maintain an organized workspace while keeping supplies stocked.

  • Meet department requirements for quality based on weekly audits and quantity performances against Reasonable Expectancy (RE).

  • Anticipate, participate and make recommendations in changing conditions.

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines.

  • Comply with System security requirements contained in the WPS Information Systems Policy which include the appropriate use of hardware and software and ensuring confidentiality of assigned password(s).

  • Comply with all WPS policies and procedures, which include maintaining confidentiality of information.


Work Experience


  • Experience using personal computer with basic keyboarding skills

  • Ability to learn divisional program requirements, multifaceted tasks, mail processing procedures, and office equipment, and maintenance procedures


  • Have knowledge regarding the preparation and processing of incoming mail.

  • Demonstrated proficiency at imaging.
