We are seeking Sanitation Techs to support a large manufacturing plant in Mechanicsburg, PA!
This position is responsible for maintaining overall plant sanitation by performing various related sanitation jobs. The position will work with Operations Technicians during CIP to accomplish overall cleanliness within the plant during sanitation periods. Maintains sanitation workflow, helps maintain proper inventory of cleaning materials and chemicals. This position requires a general knowledge and understanding of sanitation and cleaning functions, with experience in use of various cleaning chemicals. Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and work in a manner consistent with all Corporate, regulatory, food safety and quality, sanitation requirements and other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure safe operations through adherence to Environmental, Health and Safety Programs and procedures.
Follow all GMP’s and work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements.
Self-motivated individual able to own and execute daily, weekly cleaning schedule as well the master sanitation schedule.
Maintain and complete sanitation records, work orders, and preventative maintenance orders.
Sanitation duties include cleaning up spilled product, cleaning overhead dust from piping and equipment using hand brushes, sweeping and dust mopping floors, detailed cleaning of drains, floors, walls, piping and equipment.
Solid understanding of a HACCP and Prerequisite programs and the ability to assure the program is being followed.
Function as an engaged team member and contribute to the site’s continuous improvement efforts.
Pass on information to incoming shift.
Help with rework product when needed.
Work with maintenance department on monitoring meters and recording required information.
Perform related duties as required.
Desired Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience within the production area of the plant, operational and sanitation experience is preferred.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to use commercial English, grammar and arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions is required.
The ability to multi-task
Basic computer skills
Demonstrate ability to prioritize and change priorities when conditions beyond one’s control require immediate changes.
Genie Boom or Scissor lift experience Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to move heavy objects (50 lbs. or more) short distances (20 ft. or less), climb ladders or steps to access equipment, bend or stoop repeatedly or continually over time, while cleaning around a piece of equipment, work in small, cramped areas, work with cleaning fluid, effluent, chemicals, paints and cleaning agents or similar solutions.
Exposure to a wet slippery environment, noise, heat and high humidity.
Allergic reactions to the milk, and nonfat powder.
Dry and sometimes dusty atmosphere.
Noise: Candidates with a history of hearing loss or hearing difficulties are advised that the dry inject area is a restricted areas. The sound levels are as high as 100 db. And you must wear hearing protection during this operation. When in processing areas the sound levels are as high as 105db.and-hearing protection is required.
Bump caps and safety glasses are required and supplied by the employer.
