The Commercial Insurance Division is seeking to fill an Executive Underwriting position in the Alpharetta branch. The primary focus of the position will be Package, Umbrella, Workers Compensation, Automobile and International coverages for a wide variety of customer types. The underwriter will have an opportunity to underwrite accounts including professional firms, museums and cultural institutions, advanced manufacturers, clean tech, federal government contractors, law firms and other types of risks.
Position Responsibilities include:
Drive profitable growth of a specialized Commercial book of business comprised of Package, E&O, Auto, WC, Umbrella and International coverages.
Manage, underwrite and negotiate a $5-7 million Commercial Insurance book with a new business goal of $1.5 million.
Consistently deliver strong financial results including rate, growth, profit, retention, and new business
Predominately responsible for relationship development, new business acquisition, account solicitation, risk selection and analysis, and pricing of commercial products and services for new and existing customers
Participate in cross-sell initiatives within Commercial Insurance to expand product offerings to current clients and expand your pipeline of opportunities
Expand relationships with new and renewal customers and agents/brokers at all levels
Build relationships with agents/brokers to meet or exceed financial goals and create effective business plans for assigned agents/brokers and territory
Work collaboratively and effectively with a team of underwriters, underwriting associates, customer service representatives, claims examiners, and loss control representatives

Strong sales, marketing, and negotiation skills
Highly motivated and takes initiative to consistently achieve success
Demonstrated Strategic Relationship Building skills with brokers, insureds and key relationships at all levels
Continuous desire to learn, improve, and develop expertise in an industry
Track record of underwriting complex accounts with a focus on manufacturing type risks.
Ability to perform detailed and complex account and exposure analysis as needed
Minimum of 7-10 years insurance industry experience
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment using multiple internal and external resources appropriately, effectively, and efficiently
Educational and Experiential Requirements (BA/BS or equivalent)
