Job Description:

As a Maintenance Technician at Steel Technologies, your main responsibility is to continue to improve our safety, quality and efficiency. How? By performing routine and preventative maintenance and providing effective troubleshooting, you are a huge part in ensuring operations is running effectively at all times.

How you’ll contribute to our company:

  1. Preventative Maintenance

  2. Perform routine maintenance to all plant machinery

  3. Carry out the preventative maintenance program for the plant

  4. Ability to accept and control maintenance operations and communicate non-compliance problems to supervisor for instruction

  5. Minimize Downtime

  6. Constantly review the operation of plant equipment and systems

  7. Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner

  8. Identify opportunities for improvement

  9. Effective Troubleshooting

  10. Must have knowledge and ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs through a quick and effective root cause analogy

  11. Ability to accurately fill out documentation on work orders

  12. Knowledge & Understanding

  13. Knowledge of motor control systems, hydraulic systems, fire protection and mechanical bearing systems

  14. Knowledge of equipment installation

Here’s what is needed to be successful:

  • Must possess the industrial maintenance knowledge and skills to successfully troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment/machinery
    • Must have a minimum of 2 years industrial experience
    • Ability to correctly retrieve and input data in computer using Excel and CMMS System.
    • Candidate must have strong electrical experience and knowledge (Prior work with PLCs highly preferred) as well as welding experience
    • Shift flexibility/ability to work weekends as needed
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
    • Ability to operate motor control systems, hydraulic systems, fire protection and mechanical bearing systems
