Position Summary:

The Test Engineer I will provide technical testing expertise to an Agile development team to be a trusted team member, to refine the product backlog, to ensure thequality and reliability of all functional components used by Biotelemetry Research to deliver clinical research services and to ensure that all systems meet customer requirements in a manner that is consistent with applicable regulatory requirements especially with regard to validation processes outlined in Good Clinical Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice and maintaining Separation of Duties.


Understanding the design and implementation of the functional components
Identifying, documenting and investigating defects
Preparing of validation and verification plans
Ensuring the team has adequate tests, based on the plans
Ensuring the recording and reporting of test results
Assessing software functionality and usability
Determining risk analysis and validation requirements
Developing, implementing and monitoring validation metrics.
Supporting validation program, change management and revalidation requirements
Ensuring regulatory compliance in validation processes with FDA 21 CFR Part 11, QSR and ISO 13485 regulatory requirements
Training users on new component versions
Ensuring the development and maintenance of regression test suites
Ensuring the team has a well understood definition of done for the sprint backlog
Partnering with Scrum Master to drive continuous improvement within the Agile team
Fostering a collaborative team environment



Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent


1-3 years experience as a Software Test Engineer OR 2-4 years experience as a Software Tester
Experience with designing and implementing test plans and test cases
Experience with programming scripting languages such as Perl, VBScript, orsimilar
Experience or exposure to C/C++ and .NET
Experience with automated testing tools, such as TFS Test Manager, NUnit, or SpecFlow, a plus
Experience with testing frameworks, such as Selenium, a plus
Experience with test management tools, such as Test Tracker, a plus
Experience with Microsoft Windows
Experience with relational databases
