The Environmental Engineer is responsible to assist in specialized training classes pertaining to environmental and/or safety related subjects to various personnel within the company.
Perform monthly inspections and prepare reports to comply with the current environmental permits such as Air and Waste Water. Obtain, update and maintain plans, permit and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Implement and monitor ongoing environment, safety and health programs to reduce occupational injuries, assist incident investigation and finalize accident reports to assure safe guarding of employees and properties and compliance with local regulations.
Maintains the chemical safety program and is responsible to ensure compliance with all required regulations and implement best practices for chemical management with site leaders. Implement various safety programs &
Perform chemical and equipment hazard assessment and recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical and physical work hazards and maintains the Hazardous Communication program, including the SDS program.
Prepares and updates regulatory permits. Monitor and enforce permit conditions. This includes but is not limited to: oWaste Disposal Program and Permits oHazardous Material Business Plans oAir Permits and Industrial Waste Water Discharge Permits oHazardous Material Transportation Permit
Participates in investigations to determine failure root causes and analyzes data
Provides support and coordinates tasks involving engineering project teams regarding all areas of maintenance impact such as layouts, spare/parts materials, design for maintainability related to STP facility and Safety
Duties vary by projects and include collecting and analyzing data, performing hazardous waste management studies and evaluate on treating and containing it.
Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) Environmental Sciences/Energy and related field - Required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills which incorporates inputs from various resources and data points. Using information to identify and understand risks, make decisions, and take action consistent with all available facts, constraints, and probable consequences - Intermediate
Must be proficient in MS Excel and MS Word - Intermediate
