QA/Content Support Specialist at UPS

Job Description:

UPS is seeking an experienced Onsite Quality Assurance (QA) Tester / Content Support Specialist to perform reviews of ups.com content using manual and automated processes and tools. UPS.com content is validated in testing, staging, and production environments using multiple web browsers and across three viewports: large (desktop), medium (tablet), and small (mobile) viewports.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Performs quality assurance tasks, including reviewing and validating components of page (e.g. body content, breadcrumb, browser title, call-to-action, downloadable assets, external links, font size, images, internal links, page layout, page title, right rail, social share icons, etc.) 
  • Reviews and understands testing requirements, processes workflow, and reports test results in JIRA defect management tool
  • Utilizes manual open source quality assurance tools (e.g. Awesome Screenshot, Check My Links, Link Clump, Tab Resize, Web Developer Tools, Multilink, Webpage Spell Check, Page Ruler, IE Tab, URL Opener, Copyscape, etc.)
  • Manages, tracks, and monitors defects, helps implement process improvements to minimize defects, and trains stakeholders on guidelines and standards
  • Utilizes the Open Text Content Management System (CMS) to test content, identifies the source of defects, and troubleshoots deployment issues
  • Performs content development tasks to team and project leads with content projects
  • Creates and deploys content for ups.com

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrates understanding of implementation objectives, project plan, and one's role within a project
  • Participates in the implementation of a project; provides timely, thorough, and concise updates for area of responsibility; identifies areas of risk and properly communicates them to the lead
  • Demonstrates an understanding of basic project planning processes, including planning action items and resources
  • Demonstrates a general understanding of technology used by the company; communicates basic technological concepts and terminology; applies standard technology in daily work
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment
  • Familiarity with the package delivery industry - Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Business, Communications, Information Technology, or similar field - Preferred
