We are currently seeking Senior Payroll Analyst for our Administration Office in Irvine, California. This is an outstanding opportunity for a professional individual to join a growing organization.


SUMMARY:
Under general direction of the Corporate Controller, responsible for all aspects of payroll in multi-locations/states and in accordance with wage and hour regulations for applicable states.  


  • Knowledge of and the technical aspects of a payroll system and performs a variety of complex and specialized duties related to payroll accounting.  May assist with other administrative, accounting and finance duties or special projects as requested. 

  • Oversees the daily/weekly/bi-weekly maintenance of timekeeping system and processing of payroll and manual checks as needed to ensure timely and accurate payment of staff, in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.   


  • Monitors and conducts quality controls on the data entry of payroll records into the ADP system.


  • Enforces and monitors the withholding of employees’ contributions of Social Security, Medicare, Federal and State tax withholdings. 


  • Enforces wage and hour provisions and remains current on laws affecting payroll. 


  • Manages  levies, garnishments and other withholding orders with ADP.


  • Responsible for GL Interface reports from ADP and posting to general ledgers.


  • Ensures the accurate payment, reconciliation, and reporting of Company fringe benefits, payment of bonuses, and retroactive pay adjustments, in compliance with the provision of local tax laws, Federal, and State regulations.


  • Reconciles payroll clearing and suspense accounts and prepares journal vouchers to correct payroll and benefits entries.


  • Reconciles 941 reports to payroll register and general ledgers.


  • Provides payroll related information to associates concerning payment of wages, deductions, timekeeping; interprets and explains payroll policies to employees. 


  • Responds to inquiries concerning vacation or sick leave balances, earnings and employment verifications.



  • Completes the production and distribution of employee tax statements and notifications as required by law.



  • Reviews and clears error logs from upload file from Oracle/HCM to ADP.



  • Prepares analysis and creates custom ADP reports regarding timekeeping, hours, compensation.



  • Responsible for master payroll calendars and monthly processing schedules.


EDUCATION:


  • High school graduate or equivalent required.

  • Associate degree in accounting, finance, payroll, business administration or related field preferred.

 


EXPERIENCE:


  • A minimum of three to five years overall experience in payroll management with increasing responsibilities for multi-faceted, multi-location direction and planning.

  • Knowledge of local, state and federal laws including FLSA, DLSE, IWC, DWC, and COBRA; State Education Codes; retirement regulations and other fringe benefit programs and laws affecting payroll records and programs.

  • Knowledge of recordkeeping associated with fringe benefit (health & welfare, workers compensation, and unemployment insurance) programs and their applicable contracts and payroll-related procedures and practices.


  • Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting and payroll principles in for-profit setting, internal accounting controls and taxation functions. 

  • Knowledge of database and accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information.


  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, specifically MAS and education/student accounting systems.  

  • Experience with MS Office.
