The newly formed Novel Human Genetics Research Unit (NHG RU) at GSK comprises a multidisciplinary team that utilizes deep scientific knowledge and technical capabilities to identify and validate novel therapeutic targets with genetic association to disease and undertake drug discovery efforts from early stage discovery through to phase 1 clinical trials.
We are seeking to hire a highly motivated scientist to fill a Molecular and Cell Biologist position within the Target Discovery department in the Novel Human Genetics Research Unit in R&D. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team to design and execution of genetic studies in disease-relevant cellular model systems for target identification, validation and pathway studies. Specifically, the successful candidate will perform experiments interrogating genes/pathways in physiologically- or disease-relevant cellular models (including iPS-derived cells and primary cells) via genetic or chemical means and will measure the impact via phenotypic assays. The scientist will have the opportunity to work on targets and pathways relevant to a variety of human diseases and therapeutic areas.
