This position performs duties related to Corporate Accounting functions for the Specialty Pharmacy business of OptumRx, part of UnitedHealth Group. As an Accounting Manager, you'll work with an elite team of accounting and finance professionals who are writing the history of our organization and guiding our success as a global industry leader. This role will have direct reports.
Lead the month end and quarter end close process for the Specialty Pharmacy business of OptumRx
Perform higher level accounting functions such as intercompany and eliminations
Perform monthly close analysis to facilitate understanding of monthly results against the financial plan by coordinating with multiple finance leads
Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretations
Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
Performs work in a self-directed manner and works with less structured, more complex issues
Develop innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
Provide leadership on projects and initiatives to improve the accounting and finance function
Interface with business leaders and build relationship in support of Specialty pharmacy accounting
Serve as a resource and mentor to other staff
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
5+ years of professional accounting experience
Public accounting experience
Advanced level of proficiency with MS Excel, MS Office product suite
Advanced level of understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, financial statements and intercompany transactions
Project management or process improvement experience
3+ years of supervisory experience
MBA or CPA
PBM or Healthcare experience
Oracle, Hyperion Essbase, PeopleSoft financials
Advanced written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a matrix environment while positively influencing other functional areas
