A Brief Summary of This Position:

This position is responsible for general accounting, financial analysis and reporting activities within the corporate division. This includes coordination and reconciliation of intercompany activity, journal entries, preparation of account reconciliations, assisting with the month-end closing process and the consolidation and preparation of monthly internal and quarterly external financial reports. In addition, this position will be the Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) back-up administrator. A substantial portion of time will be devoted to various financial analysis assignments, ad hoc reporting requests and support of the HFM system and users. This position requires significant use of the IFS general ledger, HFM, and Microsoft Excel.

Essential Functions:

The role reports to the Corporate Financial Systems Manager and encompasses consolidation and reporting activity for over 80 manufacturing entities around the world reporting in over 20 currencies. The role works in close coordination and cooperation with other members of the Corporate Accounting team and also has frequent contact and interaction with department managers and with a geographically dispersed team of divisional accounting personnel.

  • This position reports to the Corporate Financial Systems Manager and has no direct or indirect reports
  • This role has minimal travel requirements
  • Responsible for monthly closing activities in accordance with established policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely information
  • Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned accounts
  • Assists with closing and consolidation process in HFM
  • Performs reconciliations of intercompany accounts
  • Assists with equity transactions and analysis as part of the consolidation process
  • Analyzes monthly transactions and trend comparisons which affect designated balance sheet accounts and follows up on discrepancies and reconciling items
  • Prepares internal financial reports and supplemental financial information to assist Senior Management in decision making using Smartview for Hyperion
  • Assists in the process of continually improving accounting and reporting processes while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Collaborates with other Corporate Accounting personnel to support overall department goals and objectives
  • Assists with the gathering of information for quarterly and annual external financial reports
  • Assists independent auditors in their annual audit and quarterly reviews
  • Provide support for HFM administration and users (back-up Administrator)
  • Prepares financial analysis and ad hoc reports at the request of management
  • Facilitation and preparation of census reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant experience or Associate's Degree with 7+ years relevant experience or 9+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience with foreign currency translation
  • Experience with consolidations and financial statement preparation
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong attention to details

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management or OneStream Software
  • Experience with IFS

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
