The Corporate Responsibility Reporting Advisor reports to the Senior Director of Corporate Responsibility (CR) and is responsible for assisting with the development and execution of the performance reporting on our formal Cigna Connects CR platform, which is our comprehensive environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance objectives strategically aligned to Cigna’s mission and business strategy. Our Cigna Connects CR platform helps to create shared value for stakeholders and the business and, thus, creates competitive advantage. The CR Reporting Advisor role is specifically responsible for helping lead an enterprise-wide CR metrics accounting and producing an annual, published CR report for internal and external audiences.  Additionally, this position assists with a variety of other CR reporting that Cigna completes annually (e.g. CDP, DJSI).

Essential Functions

  • Help drive the annual Cigna Connects CR report process, from data gathering and analysis to writing and producing the report in coordination with Senior Director of CR and outside technical consultants.

  • Actively gather all inputs and outcome metrics for additional annual CR reporting such as CDP, UNGC COP and DJSI

  • Manage submissions to pre-identified CR related rankings and ratings, including those from investors, analysts, publications, and organizations (e.g. MSCI, Oekum, Ecovadis, Vigeo)

  • Assist with management assessment of Cigna’s current CR performance and identity and prioritize the organization’s CR Key Focus areas and related targets.

  • Support current CR goals and objectives and measure and monitor progress against CR performance targets.

  • Provide leadership for employee GreenSTEPS sustainability initiatives to reduce company-wide resource consumption and waste generation.

  • Foster a culture of CR through ongoing organizational communications and education.

  • Build effective partnerships with external organizations to support CR efforts.

  • Some, but not extensive, travel to conferences or Cigna sites required.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field including sustainability and/or environmental policy (Master’s degree in same fields preferred)

  • Five years of experience in Corporate Responsibility/Sustainability report development, GRI, GHG verification and various top CR reporting indices

  • Solid verbal, written, and presentation communications skills required

  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to lead meetings with various management levels

  • Effective project management skills with a focus on results

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite and Excel required

  • Solid understanding of metrics and how Corporate Responsibility programs are measured and evaluated

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills and experience using data to drive recommendations to senior management

  • Working with key internal stakeholders to drive progress on KPI's for ESG factors

  • Ability to work independently and in a team

  • Highly analytical, ability to synthesize information and offer recommendations/solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to work across large, matrixed organizations.

  • Organized with a strong attention to detail and follow through.
