Location: Hoboken, New Jersey
Stevens Institute of Technology seeks an experienced, well-organized part-time educator/administrator to manage efforts of an NSF-funded research program for a STEM-rich multimedia production course for high school students. The Program Manager will act as a liaison with schools and district administrators, teachers, sponsors, and Stevens leadership and advisors to plan, implement, and monitor program initiatives.
The successful candidate will: coordinate, schedule and help plan project activities, including professional development workshops; recruit teacher participants; plan classroom visits, meetings and special events; write project reports, presentations, press releases and other promotional materials; meet with and support diverse school districts, administrators and teachers; interface with project evaluators, research team, and school administrators; handle administrative duties such as purchase orders, payments, and mailings; and oversee content and updating of the project materials.
Desired knowledge and skills include: Baccalaureate degree and five years of experience in managing education research projects; working with schools; cross disciplinary collaboration; impeccable writing and oral communication skills; understanding of and experience with effective, research-based STEM education practices; experience working with programs that serve large underrepresented minority populations; excellent general computer skills that enable high-volume electronic communication, preparation of reports and spreadsheets, and creation of presentations; ability to work independently on multiple priorities and deadlines with a diverse set of collaborators. Some local travel may be required.
