What You’ll Contribute to OHM Advisors

The Site Civil Project Manager (PM) plays a key role in assisting our clients with land development opportunities for both the public and private sector.  This position is one where significant growth opportunities exist within our organization.   OHM will help you leverage your strengths and passions so that you will experience upward mobility within our organizational matrix.   We are looking to find individuals who pride themselves on delivering successful projects to our clients while building relationships internally and externally to the firm.

The Site Civil PM will be leading a team on the execution of exciting engineering projects.  This position is responsible for the entire site design process.  This includes assisting in writing successful proposals, coordinating with our survey team, coordinating with other project disciplines, interacting with various jurisdictional entities, solving complex engineering objectives, coming up with brilliant design solutions, completing design documentation, leading a design team, and ensuring a quality experience for our clients.

Not only do you touch multiple specialties within the civil engineering field, you also work integrally with Architects, Land Planners, Landscape Architects, Urban Designers, as well as other engineering disciplines such as MEP Engineers and Structural Engineers.  The contribution you will develop in this position is helping connect the dots of all of our service offerings within an integrated services model.

Your Responsibilities

Day-to-day, you will work closely with engineering design staff, clients, other discipline staff, jurisdictional reviewers, and firm leadership.  You will be the link between our clients and the design team.  You will be an integral part of delivering the project for the client and the firm.


  • Serve as the project manager in executing projects from proposal authoring through project completion.

  • Understanding the project needs and goals to provide our clients with quality services and deliverables.

  • Responsible for client communications regarding project expectations, timelines, budgets, and project details.

  • Assisting senior leadership in marketing to clients and writing proposals for projects.

  • Mentoring younger staff to ensure their growth in the organization while growing your position in the organization.

  • Ensuring that design documents meet local, state, federal and best practice standards.

  • Work with local, state, and federal authorities regarding requisite approvals necessary for the project.

  • Work to ensure that quality assurance and quality controls are maintained prior to issuing documents externally.

  • Develops work plans, schedules and budgets related to technical tasks of a scope of services for the team.

  • Identify and solve complex technical issues related to projects to minimize project risk.

  • Responsible for signing/sealing projects they oversee.

  • Manage project design budgets, review invoices, and manage project financials.

  • Works with construction teams for client projects to provide additional information, review shop drawings, and assist the client with construction administration, as needed, for ensuring the successful execution of a project.

Your Team

As a Site Civil Project Manager, you will be responsible for working with senior leadership on projects and working with a team of design engineers to complete projects in a timely and quality-controlled manner.  While your core team is a group of Civil Engineers, you will also be working with a multidisciplinary team of Architects, Engineers, Planners, and Landscape Architects to successfully deliver projects to OHM's clients.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

To thrive on this journey with us, you will need to bring interest in our work and have examples for the below: 



  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering


  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in Site-Civil; 2+ years as a project manager or a similar role


  • Demonstrated Knowledge:We are looking for someone who has design experience and/or passion with regards to grading design, water mainline design, sanitary sewer design, roadway systems, storm sewer systems, green infrastructure, and storm water management.


  • Passion: Someone who is passionate about their community and their profession.  Someone willing to learn and grow within the organization.


  • People Skills:Exceptional interpersonal skills, proactive, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and effectively deal with client requests.


  • Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in Civil 3D, HydroCAD, MS Office, MS Project; ability to navigate and learn billing/project management software.


  • Communication: Excellent communication (both verbal and written) skills. Must be a strong listener of client needs.  Superior telephone and presentation skills a must.


  • Licensure: An Ohio PE is required.


  • Local Knowledge: Someone who has experience with Central, Ohio communities is a plus.


  • Travel Requirements: Local travel to project locations and client offices. Occasional travel to regional offices.  Travel mostly within Ohio.
