Overview We are seeking a System Integration and Test Engineer to join our team in Greenbelt, Maryland to support our Space Communication Network Services contract in the at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, integration, and execution of test code and analysis of results to characterize the performance of a next generation NASA ground station modem. This position also involves integration of modem test equipment, network troubleshooting, and evaluation of RF signals.
Responsibilities What you'll do...
Review requirements and interface control documents
Develop test plans, procedures, and reports
Develop test code to monitor and control the modem and configure test equipment
Develop test scripts to automate modem testing
Monitor and troubleshoot digital IF and baseband packets using tools such as Wireshark
Develop MATLAB/SIMULINK and/or Python/C++ code to generate digital IF signals with channel distortions
Configure and troubleshoot modem routers and switches
Operate test equipment such as Spectrum and Network analyzers to evaluate performance of modem analog interfaces
Qualifications You'd be a great fit if you have...
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics and 5+ years' of relevant experience in related field.
2+ years of experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and RF test equipment.
1+ years scripting language experience.
1+ years of experience testing of SATCOM modems/terminals .
A current Secret security clearance (interim Secret is acceptable) and maintain the clearance.

A understanding of RF communications, various modulation and coding techniques, and signal distortions.
Experience designing formal test procedures and test plans.
Hands-on experience operating and maintaining RF modems or any general RF communication system
Experience with software radio transport protocols such as VITA-49 and SDDS.
Proficiency with MATLAB and SIMULINK.
Proficiency with Python, Wireshark, and Linux.
Proficiency with National Instruments TestStand and LabVIEW.
A Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Ability to follow detailed work instructions and/or test procedures.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to work independently and in groups.
Proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Word.
