Position Overview

Provides service to residential and commercial clients by applying heat treatment to affected areas and spaces. Completes detailed reports of treatment areas, conditions, and progress.

  • Applies heat treatment (130 degree and above) to residential and commercial spaces according to schedule, instructions, safety procedures, and as needed based on service requests
  • Works in partnership with another Bed Bug Heat Specialists to treat affected spaces
  • Sets up, adjusts, and breaks down heating equipment prior to and after treatments
  • Assesses treatment area and progress throughout process
  • Documents treatment conditions, issues and resolutions for client: includes detailing temperatures, issues, cold spaces and movement of objects/furniture within treatment area
  • Drives company vehicle to customers' houses or places of business
  • Calls customers to confirm scheduled services.
  • Maintains vehicle and equipment in clean and proper operating condition.
  • Assists in maintaining cleanliness of facility.
  • Cross train on other areas of pest control as needed and assigned by the manager, when not performing heat treatments.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • License and/or certification as required by federal, state or local government
  • Requires extensive local travel and some overnight travel. Valid, permanent driver's license from state of residence and a clean driving record per company standards are required. Must be 19 years of age by date of hire.
  • DOT certification helpful, but not required. Able to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to be exposed to extreme heat conditions at or above 130 degrees for short periods of time (3-5 minutes)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Attention to detail
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management and organizational skills, including punctuality for on-time attendance
