Working hours:

Monday - Friday; 8 am to 5 pm during the Fall and Spring semesters.

Monday - Thursday; 7:30 am to 4:30 pm during the Summer semester.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible position working approximately 1768 hours per year. This position does not work when students are not on campus, i.e. fall break, spring break and breaks between semesters.

Position Purpose

The primary role of the dispensary technician is to assist the supervising physician in dispensing prescribed medications to health center clients. The technician works under the direction of the physician to ensure that patients receive the correct pre-packaged, labeled medication that has been ordered for them by the physician or nurse practitioner. The technician is responsible for inventory management for the department, estimated at approximately $400,000 in value.

High school diploma or equivalent, Formal training (specify)

Completion of Certified Pharmacy Technician training course preferred.

Computer Skills
Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Other - Electronic medical records experience preferred.


Two (2) years prior experience as pharmacy technician or LPN required.

Missouri licensed Pharmacy Technician or Missouri Nursing license required.
