You are:

A performance driven Individual who understands financial information, transactional accounting, and internal controls. You are relationship orientated and will be responsible for supporting the day to day accounting operations of the Presort Services General Accounting Organization. You will ensure that financial activities are aligned with Company goals and objectives, in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles, and in compliance with government regulations and Pitney Bowes Corporate Accounting policies.

You will:


  • Manage the accounting for the spare parts process including working closely with the operations team, estimating reserves for obsolescence, and processing the applicable journal entries.

  • Perform analysis and book entries for contract labor activity, including managing data models to estimate incurred but non-invoiced periods.

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in compliance with Company standards and policies as well as drive improvements to documentation and process.

  • Provide reporting for mail volumes, including calculating metrics that drive business analyses.

  • Develop, maintain and utilize accrual models to develop high quality accounting estimates

  • Maintain heavy focus on balance sheet activities including helping to create, improve, and conduct detailed reconciliations that will support process improvement and standardization.

  • Perform monthly closing activities including P&L related adjustments through manual journal entries.

  • Load and tie-out data in the F9 financial system.

  • Assist with continuous improvement, automation, and internal control initiatives in support of corporate strategies.

  • Generate ad-hoc financial reports, perform general ledger account analysis and technical accounting research as requested.

  • Review intercompany accounting and help drive resolution of out of balances across the Commerce services division.

  • Work actively with cross-functional teams to drive process and project completion.

  • Actively support internal and external audits including preparation of audit support and responding to auditor inquiries.

  • Facilitate the enhancement of internal controls and account reconciliation processes and ensure the effective implementation and ongoing operating effectiveness of best in class control environment.

  • Prepare inter-company wire payment forms.

Your background:

As a Senior Accountant, you have:


  • Experience managing projects and/or driving process improvements

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and across varying lines of business.

  • Operational mindset with a view towards process improvement.

  • Experience with process mapping and identifying areas of exposure and risk

  • Flexible and adaptable to various work environments

  • A Bachelor's degree in accountancy (or related field)

  • At least 2 years of experience with a Big 4 or nationally recognized public accounting firm

  • An understanding of the financial close process, and intercompany accounting

  • Knowledge of internal controls and how to effectively implement them.

  • The ability to evaluate process effectiveness and determine appropriate actions to improve through incremental actions

Preferred


  • Master's degree and/or a current CPA (or equivalent) license

  • Experience with SAP and/or HFM

  • eCommerce and/or logistics industry experience
