Roles & Responsibilities:

Administrative Support (20%)
  • Develop and compile reports, correspondence and presentations; create graphs and charts and supplemental material as requested
  • Organize and prepare slides, handouts and materials for group meetings and individual presentations
  • Support with the development and tracking of the EHS & Risk Management budget
  • Assist in coordination of meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Schedule appointments and conference calls
  • Maintain calendar, coordinate travel arrangements, and prepare expense reports
  • Receive telephone calls and incoming mail, and answer general customer inquiries
  • Ancillary support for others as needed
  • Various projects and other duties as assigned

Risk Management Support (50%)
  • Assist with the development and management of the companies EHS & Risk Management Risk Portfolio
  • Collect and manage current and historical exposure information and prepare annual underwriting submissions on a timely basis for all risk financing/insurance programs
  • Analyze loss experience at the location, business unit, and corporate level to identify trends; maintain data communication with Health & Safety and Risk Insurance Department on a timely basis
  • Evaluate of risk financing alternatives, adequacy of limits and make recommendations
  • Check accuracy of insurance policies, prepare insurance coverage summaries
  • Coordinate audits of insurance programs
  • Arrange for timely payment of all costs associated with the cost of risk; keep accurate records of risk management expenses, including loss costs
  • Prepare annual insurance and risk management budget and cost of risk allocations to business units
  • Manage compliance with state regulations for workers compensation in self-insured and monopolistic states
  • Analyze cost benefit of various programs and procedures within risk management
  • Assist with insurance and risk management due diligence reviews for mergers and acquisitions
  • Provide ongoing risk management support and assistance as needed

Function Support and Communications (30%)
  • Own the development of and maintenance of EHS & Risk Management communication tools for the purpose of communicating performance, organizational risk potential, best practice sharing, policies and programs changes, etc.
  • Work with the EHS & Risk Management staff and Head of Communications to develop a communication strategy across the organization
  • Manage Certificates of Insurance program
  • Update the annual EHS & Risk Management Key Requirements Policy
  • Support in the development and scheduling of crisis response exercise.
  • Coordinate the efforts to update the companies mass notification and crisis management tool.
  • Provide expertise in policy and coverage interpretation to operating company personnel

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (List all required):

  • College degree with major in finance, accounting, project management or risk management
  • CRM, ARM designation or CPCU course work a plus
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated individual able to work effectively and make sound independent decisions
  • Exceeds at supporting multiple positions with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional organization and follow up skills
  • Flexible and able to multi-task and accomplish multiple assignments in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate proficiency at an intermediate level in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Exercise tact and confidentiality at all times when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
