RBC Bearings is a well known international manufacturer and marketer of highly engineered precision plain, roller and ball bearings. The Developer needs to be a strong team player, comfortable receiving feedback (positive or negative), and be driven by both time constraints and a personal commitment to quality. The Developer must also be comfortable working several challenging projects simultaneously, be driven to learn new technologies and techniques, and complete tasks on-time and with little supervision.
Primary Job Functions:
Provide system development services including preparing plans, analyzing requirements, documenting specifications, designing system configurations, writing application code, conducting requirements and integration tests, writing documentation and training personnel.
Develop and deploy customer web parts using C# or VB.Net using Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server.
Develop custom Microsoft SharePoint solutions and architect, deploy, configure, customize, and administer MOSS solutions.
Construct sites with custom SharePoint workflows, SharePoint Custom Lists, SharePoint Custom Libraries, SharePoint Custom List Forms, and custom DataViews.
Provide training and support services to end users and managers for all deployed and supported applications.
Use Workflow Designer to create rules that associate conditions and actions with items in Microsoft SharePoint lists and libraries, so that changes to items in lists or libraries trigger actions in the workflow.
Perform report development utilizing SQL Server Reporting Services.
Using SQL Server Analysis Services functionality utilizes PerformancePoint to build dashboards, scorecards, reports, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Additional Job Functions:
Development and support of company’s ERP systems, custom applications, reporting and analytics, and all integration between systems, customers and/or vendors.
Provide technical mentor-ship to other members of the applications team by sharing knowledge, research, tools and techniques in support of both applications and databases.
Ensure system maintenance, support, installations, upgrades, performance monitoring, and storage administration is completed timely and in accordance with policy.
Serve as technical lead, application architect, in review of requirements and designs to help provide work estimates and work breakdown structures to business owners on assigned projects.
Assist applications and infrastructure teams with setting up and testing development, test, and production environments. Research, analyze, and recommend patches, tools, and/or database upgrades to resolve issues and add features/functionality.
Assist applications team with data modeling and designing data access methods.
Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve data and user related system errors.
Troubleshoot database and application performance issues.
Assist DBA with tuning SQL queries and databases to ensure optimum performance.
Follow change management policy and procedures for both database and code changes.
Assist in the maintenance of separate Development / Test / Production environments.
Support a 24 x 7 production environment by participating in production on-call rotations (one week at a time of 7x24 on-call support for production environments), or as needed in case of emergencies.
5+ years experience in C#, ASP.NET, XML, XSL, HTML, HTML5 and CSS / CSS3.
Experience with SharePoint Designer 2010; SharePoint (MOSS) API, programming against: Lists and Content types; Document Libraries; Web Parts and AJAX Web Parts, Site definitions, Webpart configurations.
Experience with PerformancePoint, and MS Excel services
Experience deploying, managing, administering and monitoring SharePoint.
5+ years database experience with SQL Server SSIS and SSRS, SSAS experience a plus.

Experience with Object Oriented Programming and Software development lifecycle.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science and a minimum 5 years of experience as an application developer, or 7+ years of experience as an application developer.
Strong knowledge and minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server is a must. Experience should include SQL server optimization and performance tuning. Knowledge of Oracle is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with the .Net programming framework.
Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server.
Must be capable of breaking down large projects into clear and definable sub-projects.
Minimum of 5 years of enterprise operational experience and knowledge of computer software engineering, with Windows 2003/8/12 Enterprise Server, RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server), Active Directory, WAN/LAN, Storage Area Networks (SAN), scripting, and all relevant utilities.
5 years of experience as lead SharePoint developer and/or providing architectural input.
Maintain existing SQL, PL/SQL, scripts, forms, reports and queries.
Read, modify and maintain integrity of vendor supplied scripts to meet company needs.
Experience designing high performance databases and the manipulation, extraction, querying and reporting of data/information.
Sarbanes Oxley environment knowledge a plus.
Outstanding customer service and interaction skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communications skills; able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
Experience with IT Service ticketing systems and MS Office product suite.
Ability to work independently under general supervision within a demanding client centric environment.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve issues quickly.
