Accurately enter data into databases or other computerized systems to maintain up-to-date transportation records and to track the status of orders and deliveries.
Respond to routine internal and customer inquires on delivery times and the status of shipments and orders so that inquiries are dealt with promptly and accurately.
Accurately trace lost or delayed shipments.
Plan, direct, and monitor transport and distribution activities so that the organization's goods and materials are transported safely and cost-effectively and that they arrive at their destination on time and in good condition.
Contact shipping agencies, transport companies, and customers to verify delivery prices and schedules.
Responsible for all organization trucks and vehicles controlled by the distribution function.
Liaise with area managers to coordinate transport and distribution schedules with their current and anticipated demand for goods and materials.
Participates in associate meetings and communicates any concerns to management.
