This position will be a part of our Strategic Technology team... a small, highly skilled, energetic, and collaborative group of engineers who assist in bringing our products from concept to production. This team leverages their expertise to solve development bottlenecks and optimize production yields while maintaining the highest level of quality and reliability for our products... this team has a high level of visibility and influence to get things done.
We are in multiple locations and this position will be at our Tempe, AZ office.
You will focus on activities related to RF/Microwave and mmW hardware. You'll support vendor selection, design, test and production related tasks.
Participate in both Engineering and Operations environments - this position crosses the boundaries between Engineering and Operations - expertise in both domains desired.
Investigate and propose solutions to complex problems involving the design and production of complex RF/microwave communications circuits and assemblies.
Analysis of test data; manipulate and interpret RF test results such as s-parameters, Noise figure and OIP3. Identify defects and issues affecting performance.
Prepare for and present technical findings.
Work with suppliers to solve complex problems affecting product yield and performance.
Travel to suppliers and other company locations as necessary. Up to 10% domestic and international travel)
Oversee and manage direct technical resources as necessary (technicians, engineers, inspectors and support staff).Requirements
7+ years of relevant engineering experience
A bachelor degree in Engineering
Significant experience in the design, production and test of microwave and/or mmW circuits and assemblies within telecommunications.
Skilled in RF system design including cascade analysis, spur analysis, antennas and propagation.
RF/microwave and discreet analog circuit design experience.
Must have excellent computer skills.
Prior experience directing technical resources.Preferred
Exposure to chip and wire as well as SMT methods.
Understanding of oscillators and associated tradeoffs.
Space experience is a plus.
Firmware and software experience a plus.
Prior experience working with antennas is a plus.
