SummaryThis associate scientist role in Manufacturing Sciences will provide support within Manufacturing Sciences labs along with delivering technical expertise to the clinical and manufacturing campaigns run at the site for all purification unit operations (chromatography, filtration). This position is expected to perform laboratory experiments and associated equipment turnaround or sample analysis under the direction of a senior scientist.Job DescriptionThis associate scientist role in Manufacturing Sciences will provide support within Manufacturing Sciences labs along with delivering technical expertise to the clinical and manufacturing campaigns run at the site for all purification unit operations (chromatography, filtration). This position is expected to perform laboratory experiments and associated equipment turnaround or sample analysis under the direction of a senior scientist. This role will monitor manufacturing and quality aspects of the project including reviewing/analyzing technical data and documents, provide on-the-manufacturing floor support if needed. This position acts as a subject matter expert on oligonucleotide purification processes to facilitate interactions internally as well as cross functionally (with Technical Development, Technology transfer teams, Reg-CMC and Quality). Mentoring others in the lab, evaluating new technologies and equipment, identifying and solving problems, the ability to work innovatively, and fairly independently are key responsibilities of this position.
1. Support molecules coming to Biogen's RTP site by conducting laboratory experiments assessing purification process. Focus will be in Oligonucleotide Purification, but candidate should be flexible to support Biologics and Cell Culture experiments as needed.
2. Evaluation, development and implementation of innovation initiatives that add value to the Oligonucleotide and mAB purification process
3. Representing Process Sciences in cross functional initiatives on internal technical development teams and external project line functions
4. Mentoring and training other Process Science Lab Associates
5. Accountability for standard lab maintenance regarding use of shared equipment and lab resourcesQualifications3 years of relevant experience for BS
