A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Maintain proper operation of equipment with minimal process equipment downtime.
Maintain ongoing and continuous process flow to ensure equipment efficiency.
Maintain consistent flow of plyblocks through the Lathe.
Set Lathe knives.
Perform lubrication on equipment, basic care and other preventive maintenance duties as required.
Maintain product quality as determined by specifications.
Provide process management and maintenance personnel with ongoing communication relative to safety issues, equipment operation and product quality.
Repair equipment during breakdowns.
Provide leadership for operations personnel and assist maintenance personnel during equipment breakdowns.
Provide for immediate and timely start-up of equipment and/or processes after plug-ups or breakdowns and troubleshooting equipment failures.
Perform other duties as instructed and assigned.
What You Will Need:
High School Diploma or GED, OR in lieu of this, must have (5) years of work history in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, military, agriculture, mechanical, landscaping, carpentry, corrections, or warehouse environment
At least 5 years of experience with reliability, and maintenance practices.
Experience diagnosing and repairing PLC's and electronic/electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and other mechanical issues.
Welding and fabrication skills
Basic Computer skills
What Will Put You Ahead?
Lathe Operator Experience.
2 years plywood green veneer experience
Working knowledge of all machine centers in the Green Veneer Department.
Previous knowledge and experience as a Lathe Deck Person.
Able to communicate verbal instructions.
Able to manipulate several electronic control panels simultaneously.
Possess good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to plan, organize and execute multiple tasks.
