Arconic Engineered Structures (AES) is seeking an organized, energetic Strategic Buyer. This position is primarily responsible for achieving the best total cost position for external spend, executing low risk sourcing strategies for critical raw materials and MRO items, monitoring supplier performance, supporting storeroom strategy, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures. Profile : The primary purpose of this role is the execution of day-to-day procurement activities with a high level of efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring continuous production operations and meeting internal customer requirements, while ensuring compliance requirements are met.

Essential Functions : The Strategic Buyer, position includes both strategic and tactical management including execution, examples include but are not limited to:


  • Supports all relevant procurement operations activities across multiple AES locations


  • Executes on savings initiatives and initiates counter measures if necessary


  • Performance areas: operations support, cost savings, supplier performance, challenging of material & service specifications (demand management)


  • Reviews and issues purchase orders for raw materials and other MRO items


  • Negotiate and execute contracts with preferred terms (commercial and legal) that align with company compliance requirements


  • Manage delivery and work with suppliers to expedite shipments as needed


  • Solicit competitive quotes from suppliers, negotiate pricing, and execute associated commercial purchasing instruments


  • Create sourcing strategies that align with production requirements


  • Work closely with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice and payment issues


  • Complete Arconic Self-Assessment Tool (ASAT) testing and share procurement best practices, ensuring day-to-day activities follow associated requirements


  • Assist in providing requests to Internal and External audit teams


  • Performs ad hoc projects, supporting Procurement and/or Operations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Data Science/Analytics, Marketing/Communications, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering from an accredited Institution


  • Minimum 3 years previous work experience in procurement, category management, supply chain management, finance, or operations in a manufacturing environment.


  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder') Political Asylee, or Refugee.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 - 6 Years' Experience in procurement preferred


  • Experience working in a Union facility


  • Advanced Education or relevant certifications preferred
