As an Underwriting Intern, you will gain exposure to all phases of the Life Underwriting process, including work with our Medical and Underwriting Policy and Performance teams. As an Underwriting Intern, you are given substantial responsibilities and will have opportunity to present your newly learned skills to your team during this 10-week experience.
 
Job Responsibilities:
During the 10-week program, you will gain valuable experience performing activities such as:


  • Collaborating with business partners to support the underwriting operation

  • Review of presentation and training documents, and opportunity to revise/enhance the material

  • Hands-on learning through job-shadowing of leaders, mentors, and underwriters in the organization including the opportunity to analyze medical quotes and provide sample decisions

  • Involvement in ad-hoc special projects

  • Face to face meetings with senior leaders to gain career insight and development tips

  • Opportunity to participate in community and volunteer events


  • Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s program graduating between December 2020 and May 2022

  • All majors welcome; Minimum 3.2 GPA required

  • Prudential does not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Successful candidates must possess the requisite US employment authorization to be eligible for consideration

  • Demonstrated leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities and on campus organizations and/or community, public service or similar enterprise

  • Strong analytical & critical thinking skills

  • Excellent verbal and written skills and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service

  • Ability to apply flexibility and creativity to decision-making and communication and have a desire for continuous learning and self-development
