DH Pace Company is seeking a Part-TimeField Labeling Inspectorin Tempe, Arizona to inspect fire and smoke rated swinging door products that are missing labels or labels that are not legible, per applicable Codes, Standards, and D.H. Pace Compliance Services processes. Apply labels when appropriate, document findings, and communicate findings.
Conduct site visits to identify potential code deficiencies.
Write summary report and submit for review in a timely manner.
Perform opening take-offs when needed.
Communicate any negative and positive feedback about inspections, processes, customer interactions, supervisors, and fellow employees through pre-established channels.
Document and communicate any process improvements back to Code Compliance Director or Regional Code Compliance Director.
Stay abreast of code, process and product changes through available avenues.
Perform Inventory, order forms and labels as needed.
Have tools checked on required intervals for calibration.
Finish continuing education/training classes within required timeframes.
Travel as required.
Other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum five years reading, interpreting and applying commercial building codes and standards relating to fire rated swinging doors.
Experience with fire rated swinging doors and their components.
Door and Hardware Institute ‘Certified Fire Door Assembly Inspector’ (CFDAI or FDAI) credential or equivalent experience and/or certification from another accredited agency/association.
Represent the company in a professional manner with good customer service and verbal communication skills. Maintain and promote a positive attitude toward customers both internal and external, regardless of the circumstances. Communicate with customer, supervisor or other office personnel in an effective and timely manner.
