Job Summary:

Maintenance keeps the facility in running order which would include: production equipment, inside and out of the build and grounds.

The eMaint clerk is responsible for maintaining maintenance paperwork that may include inspection paperwork ex: chiller and crane inspections, keeping track of parts ordered, putting parts on the shelf, tagging parts, working with contractors (forklifts), making local supply runs, and working with Maintenance Manager in the eMaint system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Collect and file maintenance coverage logs according to department and date.

  2. Collect Hot Work Permits and file according to department.  

  3. Collect downtime reports for Extrusion and Anodizing.  Maintain a spreadsheet that compiles amount of downtime for Extrusion and Anodizing and file the original reports.

  4. Collect, stamp, copy, and file copies of work orders and return originals to proper person.

  5. Collect parts order forms, make sure they are signed.  Be able to track the order until the parts are delivered and then file the original order form. When processing for other departments.

  6. File the T-Rex Inspection sheets by date in the proper binder.

  7. Make supply runs to the local hardware store.

  8. Assist with general housekeeping in Maintenance Dept.

  9. Comply with Company and Health & Safety policies and procedures.

  10. Learn the eMaint system and how to navigate in it.


  1. Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies are essential functions of the job.

  2. Must be able to maintain departmental production and quality standards with little supervision.

  3. Teamwork is essential, must be willing to work closely and effectively communicate with co-workers. 

  4. Must be able to approach others and the job with a positive attitude, as well as be detailed oriented.

  5. Must be computer literate, and know how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  6. Must be able to make simple mathematical calculations and show knowledge of basic math skills.

  7. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions correctly.

  8. Must have the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.

  9. Must have and demonstrate a desire to learn new skills for self-development and be achievement driven.

  10. Must be willing to work overtime or "off shift" work hours as required.

  11. Must be willing to perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Constant use of hands – reaching, handling, grasping, data entry

  2. Constant communication – computer work, phone, reading, talking

  3. Constant sitting with occasional walking or standing

  4. Occasional lifting/carrying or pushing/pulling of 10-50#

  5. Handle heat and cold for periods of time while preforming floor related functions listed above 70 % floor 30% office


                The manufacturing facility is subject to the same general climate conditions as outdoors (heat, cold, humidity, etc.)  Chemicals, dust, pollen and other typical airborne particulate matter are present within the atmosphere and may create some odors in the plant.  Oldcastle, in an effort to provide its employees with a safe and healthy working environment, limits exposure to chemicals through written procedures, engineering controls and PPE.  While some chemical may pose health risks if not properly used, employees are trained on the proper safety equipment and procedures for handling chemicals.  While the chemical exposure and odors are under acceptable levels set by OSHA and TOSHA, they nevertheless, can be smelled and are handled according to the company’s hazardous program.
