Job Description

Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job

Distributor manager helps drive performance and strategy of distributors. To create, communicate and ensure execution of the distribution strategy. He/ She is responsible for achieving sales, business development, profitability, and customer satisfaction objectives with the key distributors. To assess, select and manage distributors for each market segment. To represent the entire range of Nouryon SC NA products and related services to the distributors.


Key Accountabilities

Achieves assigned targets with distributors

Financially: sales volume/ value growth, new business development, payment behavior

Cooperative behavior: data / information sharing, training, technical support, end customer satisfaction

Strategic distributor management (e.g., entrepreneurship/ability for new business development; problem solving; decisiveness; independence in leading distributor/account interactions; establishing and executing distributor strategy; formulate clear business targets in assigned accounts)

Operative sales management (e.g., executional mindset/focusing on results; persistence in achieving targets/objectives; organized, stress resistance; integrity/reliability; communication to internal and external stakeholders)

Key Activities

Develop market segment distributor strategies

Leads implementation and execution of distributor strategy

Assesses, selects, recruits and manages distributors

Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel of distributors

Coordinates involvement of sales team and customer service

Manages potential channel conflict by fostering excellent communication internally and externally, and through strict adherence to channel rules of engagement

Ensures compliance of distributor agreements

Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume

Proactively leads a joint partner planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a productive partner relationship

Coordinates training of distributors on products and technologies


Job Requirements

Preferred MBA / Marketing/ Sales Education

5-10 yrs. of relevant segment / marketing experience

Fluency English required

Experience in Distribution in the Chemical industry

Communication and interpersonal skills, listening, writing, verbal, influencing, entrepreneurship, result oriented, negotiation, proven problem-solving abilities and strong business acumen

Flexibility to work in a matrix organization

Project management capabilities and skills

Experience in change management
