Job Description

Provide skilled personnel in providing comprehensive enterprise Touch Labor functions for incident management, account management, problem management, and request fulfillment using USCG ticketing system. Provide system administration support to include performing all installations, upgrades, recapitalizations, and configuration changes for 15 servers. This also includes after hours and weekend support.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Receive and resolve user assistance requests (via phone, walk-in, and USCG ticketing system). User assistance requests which cannot be resolved shall be escalated to the appropriate service provider for advanced support.
  • IT Equipment (Computers, Fax, Copiers, and Printers):
  • Install hardware/software and troubleshoot issues on CGOne computer systems, specifically support over 100 non-standard ALC software products for ALC Command
  • Conduct Windows image deployment (initial configuration)
  • Work with vendors to provide support and warranty replacements
  • Provide support and training to end users
  • Troubleshoot copier and MFP network connectivity
  • Maintain and test Public Address system
  • Servers:
  • Perform routine maintenance, backups, and restores on servers as needed
  • Identify power requirements and coordinate site facilities support
  • Network switches and infrastructure:
  • Enable/disable switch ports
  • Troubleshoot, configure, and deploy new switches
  • Identify power requirements and coordinate site facilities support
  • Install new copper/fiber cabling to support data and voice communications networks as needed
  • Manage and maintain configuration and documentation of nonstandard LANs, including wireless
  • Document all requests and work efforts utilizing the Coast Guard ticketing system


Education & Experience

  • Demonstrated 4 years of experience providing technical support to analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns.
  • Demonstrated ability respond to and resolve help desk requests.
  • Demonstrated ability to upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability Install and test computer-related equipment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communications skills.

Certifications

  • Candidate must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent)
  • ITIL Foundation certification is desired

Security Clearance

  • US Secret (T3) or higher security clearance is required (may start work with Interim Secret)
