Culinary Sales Leader

Job Description:

The Culinary Sales Leader (CSL) position is responsible for providing culinary support for the foodservice sales team and to lead the newly created culinary sales vertical team (3 direct reports and 2 dotted line broker chefs).  This team will provide culinary support/expertise to the foodservice sales team nationally across all channels.

Field Sales Team Support:  Support sales team efforts by partnering with existing and new, targeted operators through the delivery of value-added culinary knowledge, insights, menu ideas, product demonstrations and ideations.  Support culinary efforts at industry events to demonstrate Land O’Lakes dairy expertise.

Planning/training:  Develop/implement/execute ongoing planning process for culinary field executions.  This would include ongoing planning meetings with foodservice leadership team to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of customer-facing culinary efforts.  The CSL would also lead training and development efforts for the field-based culinary staff and field sales (Land O’Lakes and broker) personnel.

Internal collaboration:  Collaborate with internal Land O’Lakes teams including R&D, Marketing, Test Kitchens and Customer Marketing to help inform our foodservice strategic priorities and bring customer/operator insights into our corporate headquarters.

Administration:  Monthly reporting, tracking, operator event planning, HR activities, food trend/menu development education, etc.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Accredited culinary education program with a strong foodservice background and proven track record of driving operator growth through culinary expertise

  • Minimum 7 years culinary experience within the foodservice industry

  • Experience managing a team

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Certified Executive Chef – American Culinary Federation

  • ServSafe certified in state-of-residence

  • Experience national manufacturer selling experience across multiple channels

  • BOH Operations experience preferred
