The INVISTA Victoria, Texas, facility is seeking entrepreneurial, innovative leaders to join our team as a Diesel / Crane Mechanic. A Day In The Life Typically Includes: 


·        Performs maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on fire water pumps, boom trucks, carry decks, cranes and crane equipment with a safety-first approach.

·         Responsible for performing equipment make safe procedures (Lock Out Tag Out) which include identification, de-energizing, isolation and first breaks to make equipment safe to perform maintenance on.

·         Responsible for preforming and the upkeep of required OSHA inspections of our crane fleet (Boom trucks, Carry Decks and Cranes).

·         Performs inspections of rigging, hoisting equipment and mono-rail systems.

·         Interprets relay alarms, equipment condition (routine wear, leaks, damages, etc.) to aid in troubleshooting.

·         Interacts and leads contract teams performing maintenance.

·         Displays strong communication skills and capable of communicating effectively with all levels.

·         Willing to maintain a strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • 3 years industry related experience.

  • Must have a current and valid government issued driver’s license.

  • Must have the ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential card, also known as TWIC ®

  • Experience with lubrication handling and applications

  • Experience working around mobile cranes and possess experience with basic lifting and rigging

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions (with or without reasonable accommodations):

  • Ability to work a 10-hour day shift, Monday – Thursday. Work schedule is subject to change with notification, depending upon business needs.Additionally, must be available to work scheduled (planned) or unscheduled (unplanned/short-notice hours on nights and/or weekends, holidays as needed), to meet business needs.

  • Work under the following conditions: Confined spaces, congested areas, extreme inclement weather, required overtime, long hours.

  • Must be available for call-outs determined by business needs.

  • Climbs stairs, ladders on columns, ladders, scaffolds.

  • Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to wear required PPE rated for task being performed

What Will Put You Ahead?

  • Building hoist and mono-rail related experience

  • Qualified Rigger & Signalman

  • Qualified Carry Deck & Boom Truck Operator

  • NCCCO Nationally Certified Crane Operator

  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements for inspection/repairs of cranes

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Word (i.e. creating documents), Excel (i.e. creating spreadsheets, utilizing established formulas, & data entry), and Outlook (i.e. scheduling meeting invites & emailing)

  • Experience working in a chemical facility

  • Experience using precision tools: inside and outside micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, depth micrometers, feeler gauges, torque setting equipment, etc.

  • Certificate of completion in a mechanical maintenance related coursework such as a trade school or manufacture given training pertaining to mobile crane works.
