SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES

The Assistant to the Vice Chancellor will manage, support and provide oversight of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (VCSA) & Associate Vice Chancellor. This position represents the Division and University Community in their absence when requested. A major role of this position is Divisional responsibilities as the chief liaison for the Divisional structure, requests, issues, and involvement. Management of office operations and responsible for the VCSA suite. Personnel responsibilities include but are not limited to the hiring/termination process, professional development, policies and procedures, training, and divisional representation. Budget & Finance knowledge, oversight, procurement, business transactions, and review of budgets. Coordination and implementation of events, programs, and meetings are a major role in this position.

* Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

* At least five years of experience as an administrator/assistant
OR * 10 years of experience in lieu of bachelor s degree

* Master s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

* At least five years of consistent and relevant work experience in Higher Education/Student Affairs or related field

* Demonstrated expert level written and verbal communication skills

* Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

* Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and social media platforms

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Problem-solver skills
