Position Description PRIMARY PURPOSE: Install, maintain, diagnose and repair equipment related to the unloading, loading, transfer and storage of bulk cargo including cranes, bulldozers, front-end loaders, forklifts, company vehicles, air compressors, and hydraulic equipment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
A position with broad assignment under periodic supervision. May be assigned to general maintenance duties in all areas of operations of the terminals.
The successful installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of rolling equipment, conveyance systems, mobile equipment, hydraulic systems, air compressors etc. Expereinece working on CAT FELs 924 to 980 a plus.
Maintain maintenance shop, parts inventory, documentation and records as required. Knowledge of CMMS - Maximo a plus
Housekeeping and general maintenance as required.
Ability to respond to call-out to perform maintenance duties.
Upkeep of assigned equipment or tools.
Training as directed.
Perform any other type of terminal function as trained and as instructed by the supervisor.
Position Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High school graduation certificate or equivalent.
3+ years of heavy equipment, vehicle diagnose and repair.
3+ years Gasoline & diesel engine experience preferred.
Ability to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) as issued by Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Must possess valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with KM's insurance standards.
Successful completion of company background check and drug screen upon job offer.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work at protected heights up to 80 feet.
Must have the ability to take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and work cooperatively with others.
Requires work in all types of weather conditions
Must be available to work all shifts and weekends
Must be available to respond to call-out as assigned on a 24/7 basis
• Regular work attendance is required • Must be willing to work shift and/or overtime hours during the week and/or weekends as dictated by operations • Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operators driver license and have the willingness to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge: +3 Years of mobile equipment, rolling stock, and conveyor equipment a plus.
