This senior technical role Develops and drives our Security Architecture models and strategies. This role will focus on organizing and rationalizing Anthem systems and information assets in order to ensure business and IT alignment with Security requirements standards. Deliverables include Security Architecture strategy assessments, tactical and strategic security control recommendations, operational security blueprints and roadmaps, reference architectures for security patterns, and general security technology assessments. Also provides security focused solution architecture guidance to business and IT partners and participates in broader Enterprise Architecture governance activities.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
Recommends solutions and/or new technologies based upon Security best practices, business value drivers, proven architecture principles, patterns and return on investment.
In collaboration with other Principal Security Architect and the OOCISO establishes overall Security Architecture vision and ensures specific components are appropriately designed and leveraged; Works with the Enterprise Architecture group to drive the holistic vision of Enterprise Architecture.
Defines security architecture reference documentation and helps to enforce standards. Anticipates areas where security standards may need to be developed that are in-line with customer, IT and industry standards.
Defines the architectures required to implement large complex cross-functional projects.
Collaborates with IT and ensures that the construction of architecture components (e.g. domain architecture, solution architecture and technical architecture) aligns with architecture strategies.
Works with business units to translate business strategy into discrete capabilities and helps to identify security capability gaps in systems.
Develops and maintains an architectural blueprint and evolutionary roadmap that defines and communicates the strategic direction for these architectures in support of business and technical strategies. Explains how the roadmap improves our security posture, maintains and delivers cost effectiveness, business value, and competitiveness.
Develops innovative technology approaches to solve security and business problems and is usually sought out as an expert in this field.
Participates in the Enterprise Architecture governance processes and community of practice.
Authors white papers and other documentation to foster innovative technology concepts or a point of view for management.
Collaborates with the broader Architectural community to develop reference architecture in accordance to our Enterprise Architecture Package (EAP) framework
Performs IT due diligence to help guide rationalization decisions or systems assessments.
Education and Training
BA/BS degree in computer or information science discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
8 + years of experience in architecture/design in relevant technology disciplines in the Healthcare field or a combination of education of experience.
4+ years’ experience with Information Security Architecture or equivalent experience in domain or Enterprise Architecture
Knowledge of healthcare or healthcare systems a plus
Experience with developing architecture strategies, blueprints and architecture models
Extremely strong written, verbal and intrapersonal skills
A positive outlook, a passion for Information Security and architecture discipline as well as the ability to work as part of a team. A sense of urgency and the ability to hit the ground running with minimal direction
The ability to deal with ambiguity and change
Strong visualization and executive level presentation capabilities
Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture tools and frameworks
Strong communication/documentation skills required and ability to work
at many different levels throughout the organization.
Experience investigating new technologies, authoring white papers and delivering presentations to senior leadership
