The Operations Practice (OPS) Area is one of BCG's largest functional practices. We help our clients create competitive advantage by enhancing their performance and building strategic capabilities. BCG s expertise in Operations covers the following areas - supply chain management, procurement, manufacturing, service operations, cost efficiency, operational transformation, research & product development, program and project management, all with a strong digital and analytics overlay.
WHAT WE NEED
BCG is looking for an Associate Director with significant experience in Operations topics in Medical Technologies. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated leadership in operational impact, change management, people leadership and management, and enablement.
WHAT YOU LL DO
In this role, you will contribute to the business development of Medical Technologies and Operations in the Americas. You will contribute to leads and proposals together with the partners of the practice, build awareness of BCG Operations competence, and contribute to the development of additional business beyond the delivery of recommendations on Client engagements.
You will build the expertise of BCG s Operations Center in North America, and increase BCG s profile externally. You will also provide project execution and topic expertise in Operations topics to improve overall supply chain operations for our clients.
As an Expert Associate Director, you will apply your deep expertise to generate value for our clients while building and contributing to BCG s intellectual capital. Your role in projects can vary from team management to team advisor. You will leverage your expertise to add insight and drive clients toward recommendations and you will be viewed as a trusted advisor by senior clients. You will help scope and structure the work, onboard team members, and provide guidance throughout the project. Expert Associate Directors contribute significantly to BCG s intellectual capital, generate interest and excitement about their expertise area, and coach and mentor others.

The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG s ability to successfully meet our clients demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the best of BCG to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
* At least 10 years of experience in the Medical Technology industry or a combination of industry and consulting experience, with a focus on the following:
* Operational Excellence
* Process industry optimization
* Production optimization / continuous improvement
* Availability / reliability
* End to end project execution support, including training and coaching
* Logistics, materials management, and warehousing
* Service level analysis and tracking
* Inventory level setting and ongoing management
* S&OP streamlining
* End to end supply chain system integration
* Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, processes, and quality systems in the Medical Technology industry
* More than five years of responsibility for supply chain related activities (business development, mergers and acquisitions-related activities, operations, planning, project management)
* A Master's degree in Engineering and / or MBA from a top tier university with track record of strong academic performance preferred
* Having an APICS certificate is a plus
