Job Description:

Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for handling finished product and supplies. Brings out product to blend and stores bulk in the freezers. May load trucks at time when the ATL system is down, stores finished cases in designated areas of the freezers, and inventories bulk and cases in the cold storage. Manages the operation of the ATL system.

Job Description
  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures. Be actively involved in safety, participate in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, perform risk assessments and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members.
  • Daily safety/maintenance check forklift, record and report any malfunction.
  • Knows procedures for battery changes.
  • Receive instructions, store product in proper location in the freezer. Deliver product to package line for repack/blend.
  • Bring in packaging supplies, such as KD cases, package machine paper, KD totes, pallets, glue barrels, metal bins and trash bins.
  • Take out frozen waste product bins and paper bins to designated areas for dumping and bring in empties.
  • Store bulk bins in the freezers in the designated location.
  • Stack all bins evenly and to the designated height in the freezers.
  • Restack, sort, and organize freezer in order to maintain a neat, orderly appearance accurate inventory, and location of product.
  • Must know locations of all blendable and repackable bulk.
  • Take out the trash bins, product bins, damaged pallets, KD cases, etc. to designated storage areas.
  • Supply rework to bulk crew with restricted cases, KD totes, pallets, lids, liners, etc. store bins from rework in designated areas of the freezers.
  • Set up bulk bins for shipment to cold storages or unload and store bulk coming back for repacks, etc.
  • Uses 2 way radio, scan gun and computer touch screens regularly.
  • Understand information on the manifest tickets and how this information applies to their responsibilities.
  • Understand the procedure for "First In First Out"
  • Reports all equipment failures and mechanical problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Completes forms in accurate, timely and legible manner and can identify cases, labels, cuts, colors, catalog numbers, day codes and acceptable case conditions.
  • Any other task as directed by Warehouse Lead or Team Leaders
  • Follow good housekeeping practices and GMP's.
  • Wear required PPE.
  • Actively participate in AMD activities
Job Qualifications

  • Sanitation qualification is required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained.
  • Employee must be Lock-out/Tag-out qualification is required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained.
  • Forklift Certification is required. If not, employee must meet requirements to become forklift certified.
  • Read, understand, and obey all plant rules and practice safety as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Practice proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.
  • Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being performed.
  • Actively practice and abide by all Company work, safety, and personal hygiene rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player.

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Language Skills

Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this job. The employee:
  • The noise level in the work environment can exceed 85 dB.
  • Will regularly work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Will frequently be exposed to cold conditions in the freezer.
  • May occasionally work around fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration.
  • Will work around forklift traffic.
