Job Description

The Operations Training Specialist will be based in Austin, TX. This is a full-time role supporting medical manufacturing training activities. Responsible for developing courses and delivering training via classroom, online and OJT methods.  Collaborate with a group of trainers, subject matter experts, customers and leaders from across the organization.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

  • Support the site in meeting the competence, training and awareness requirements defined in ISO 13485 and 21CFR820.

  • Work with customers, engineering, operations, quality and EHS to align learning objectives with manufacturing processes.

  • Develop and maintain course materials, presentations and OJT checklists, using MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and HTML.

  • Teach various manufacturing topics for exempt and non-exempt employees via classroom instruction.  

  • Develop interactive online courses using iSpring authoring software.

  • Write procedures.

  • Ensure that employees have skills that meet quality, compliance, safety and customer requirements.

  • Earn IPC-A-610 Instructor Certification

  • Teach IPC-A-610 Certified Specialist courses.

  • Schedule training, send out invitations, coordinate with leadership.

  • Follow Good Documentation Practices, as defined by FDA.

  • Prepare for internal and external audits. Always be audit ready.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness. 

  • Monitor job certification and re-certification activities.

  • Maintain training records.

  • Maintain confidential information.

  • Follow policies and procedures.

Here is some of what you’ll need (required):

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience providing instructor led (classroom) training.

  • Previous experience in the manufacturing industry

  • Strong instructor / facilitation skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Very strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills.

  • Instructional design skills.

  • Training needs analysis skills.
