Job Description:


Provides direct patient care, consultation, education research activities and clinical supervision. Working in occupational health at HMH facilities.


Clinical Practice: Clinical practice and critical thinking accurately reflects code of ethics, the new jersey department of health requirements, jcaho and institutional policies and procedures which provides for effective and safe patient/customer outcomes.

Consultation/Collaboration Works as a team member.: Accepts referrals from all units of the hospital and collaborates with physicians, nurses and other members of the health care team in patient care planning. Demonstrates resource capability within the institution through the use of other disciplines. Utilizes principles of communication and change of theory to establish positive working relationships with nursing and medical center departments to accomplish the goals of meridian health system.

Functions as an educator to patients and families: Facilitates patient teaching and support programs for patients/families in area of expertise.

Patient Care: Promotes continuity of patient care within the institution from admittance to discharge, by working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team. Acts as a role model by demonstrating current trends in patient care management. Follows Universal Precautions.


Responsible for continuing education and expanding job knowledge.: Demonstrates an ability to function as an expert clinical resource, providing professional development opportunities for a new employee, undergraduate or graduate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Independently participates in continuing education and maintains documentation. Develops a personal plan of development in area of clinical expertise, conferring with supervisor on goals and objectives.
