Chemical Buyer provides purchasing support to production, warehouses and direct shipments to customers by ensuring all required materials are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner. This position is responsible to ensure the entire purchasing process operates efficiently and effectively, meeting customer expectations. Chemical Buyer is responsible for scheduling their work to ensure accurate and time completion of activities.
Ensure shipments are delivered in a timely manner.
Place and enter purchase orders as required.
Oversee, instruct, confirm and record the receipt of shipments.
Expedite purchase orders, making sure supplier deliveries are on time and ensure that all generated reports reflect current and accurate dates and information
Verify goods received by obtaining proof of delivery as needed.
Responsible to reconcile and work with Accounts Payable to resolve all issues related to purchase orders
Build professional relationships with vendors
Routine clerical duties to support department activities and equipment.
Monitor quality, service, and delivery issues, and take corrective actions as needed.
Identify and resolve supplier and internal errors that result in schedule discrepancies.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within each project.
Follow KAI's ISO9001 quality standards.
Verify shipments against purchase orders and specifications
Coordinate deliveries with suppliers and remote warehouses
Build professional relationships with vendor
AA Degree or Minimum of 3+ years purchasing and scheduling experience
Multi-tasking - must be able to juggle priorities & adapt to change
Good communication skills -verbal & written
Attention to detail and ability to follow a defined process
Prior system skills & familiarity with productivity software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Team player with a friendly, professional attitude.
