Responsible for supporting and coordinating environmental & safety services to ensure compliance with company, local, state, and federal regulations and requirements. Ensures timely and accurate review, receipt, and/or dissemination of all controlled environmental and safety internal documentation and external filings with Local, State, and Federal agencies. Coordinates Local, State and Federal agencies, Parker consultants and environmental services providers, and Parker employees to insure all activity reports are provided accurately and as required and all necessary environmental and safety permits are in place. Conduct accident investigations, review operations for ergonomic effectiveness, make suggestions on modifications to improve working conditions and provide a safe and healthy work environment and reduce or eliminate industrial accidents, hazards, and resulting injuries. Direct the activities of the Safety/Ergonomics Committee. Will coordinate all environmental and safety training and associated documentation.
1. Ensure full compliance with all applicable company policies, local, state and federal regulations. Areas include, but are not limited to: water discharge, air compliance, waste management, remedial action programs, chemical storage systems, and applicable employee environmental training. 2. Monitor and review employee work place activities for safety and ergonomic effectiveness and conduct ergonomic evaluations and accident investigations as required, identifying safety and ergonomic risks. Evaluate and implement modifications to existing and new processes which reduce or eliminate industrial accidents and ergonomic injuries. Direct the activities of the Safety Committee in this effort. 3. Coordinate the training of employees at all levels in various required environmental, safety, programs. Maintain detailed records of all training conducted. 4. Support the instruction of individual personnel and departments of the facility in the safe use of chemical and petroleum products and the disposition of generated wastes. 5. Update and maintain data bases and process Environmental Health and Safety forms and Material Safety Data Sheets. Support the posting and/or control of environmental system and safety data and information to the Company intranet. 6. Support the review, approval, and documentation of all capital expenditure proposals for environmental and safety impact before commitments are made. 7. Coordinates the collection and dissemination of all air emission data and review data collected against applicable standards to insure compliance with regulatory requirements. 8. Review and record waste water treatment system discharge volume records for completeness and accuracy. 9. Assist in the review and make recommendations prior to approval for use in the workplace of chemical products, new and modified equipment and processes. 10. Review, track, and document as required environmental-related vendor activity, invoices, and other expenses identifying cost irregularities, and cost reduction opportunities.
