Job Description:


The COBRA Carrier Operations Specialist will play a key role in the WEX Health COBRA startup by assisting with the development of processes and procedures to include carrier communication, eligibility status updates and issue resolution.


* Sends communications to insurance carriers regarding COBRA reinstatements and terminations

* Reports eligibility status to carriers on a daily, weekly, monthly or urgent basis

* Responds to complex inquiries regarding benefits, billing, eligibility and coverage

* Works with carriers to resolve coverage discrepancies

* Provides necessary reporting for carriers, when requested

* Addresses internal and external requests in a timely manner

* Meets or exceeds all outlined quality standards

* Assists in creating and documenting COBRA customer service processes, tools and workflows

* Assists in creating new hire training material, as well as training of additional staff for this new initiative

* Provides ongoing training for the COBRA team

* Serves as back up assistance for other COBRA department needs when necessary

* Manages additional projects as assigned


* Previous experience with COBRA Services preferred

* Previous experience with startup of a new initiative preferred

* Customer service training or quality experience required

* Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

* Experience working with various software applications on a day to day basis (Office, Outlook, Web)

* Ability to manage multiple projects

* Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills

* Ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment

* Detail oriented with excellent analytical, and investigative skills

* Understanding of HIPAA and Privacy Regulations

* Ability to understand the WEX Health product family and Healthcare Industry
