Hughes Network Systems, is a global leader in broadband satellite technology company, located in Gaithersburg, MD is currently seeking a Senior Manager of Operations who will strive for excellence and results in a fast pace electronic manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing all manufacturing operations. Candidate will translate customer requirements into state-of-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company goods.
Responsibilities:
* Strong engineering skills, with detail understanding of multiple manufacturing lines (Surface Mount Technology and Box Build lines)
* Develop and execute continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiency and utilization of production lines
* Oversee the allocation of personnel, material and equipment resources to meet the daily objective
* Plan, direct and coordinate the manufacturing of products in strict compliance with company goals and objectives.
* Effective management of the production departments and operations engineering group
* Manage multi-shift production operations to meet daily schedules at the optimum level of productivity and quality.
* Provide management and leadership to supervisors
* Defines goals, improves technologies and resolves manufacturing problems
Basic Requirements:
* Bachelor s degree in engineering or manufacturing technology discipline
* 10+ years of experience working in an electronics manufacturing environment
* 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role in an Electronics Manufacturing Service facility
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master s degree in electrical/manufacturing engineering
* Experience within a lean manufacturing environment with demonstrated results and oriented leadership leading to continuous cost, quality and productivity improvement
* Demonstrated success with Six-Sigma or other problem-solving methodologies in a production environment.
* Knowledge of all aspects of electronics manufacturing processes
* Hands on experience with production test software and hardware development
* Good analytical and communication skills
* Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of SAP software
