The Material Handler will sort, classify and handle all donated materials and deliver to various departments.
Essential Job Functions:
Assists in loading and unloading of trucks.
Packages and bundles material for transporting.
Prepares material for delivery to other centers.
Assures dock area remains clean, organized and clutter-free.
May assist with operation of textile baler and tow motor after equipment training is received, if applicable. Please Note: Goodwill prohibits minors (under the age of 18) to operate equipment such as balers, compactors, and forklifts in accordance with the child labor laws.
May assist with weighing bales and maintaining baling processing records, if applicable.
Provides customer assistance with loading and receiving donations.
Works on rotating schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Performs other duties as assigned
Reports To: Operations Supervisor, Asst. Dir. of Transportation & Logistics, or Retail Manager.
Requirements:
Ability to read and write.
Ability of accuracy with record reporting.
Displays great customer service by greeting donors and customers; offers assistance.
Ability to lift/carry 25 lbs.; occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
Ability to perform job requirements with few restrictions; works with minimal supervision.
Follows all safety procedures and correct safety issues, if possible.
Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
