OUR POSITION: We have an exciting opportunity to join our Health Information Management team as the Dragon Administrator/Manager. This position will support Hackensack Meridian Health Mountainside Medical Center located in Montclair, New Jersey. This facility is owned and operated by Ardent Health Services.

The Dragon Administrator/Manager manages the usage and training of Dragon Speech Recognition and supports providers in Epic to become efficient in their ability to utilize Dragon.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

15%: Provides support for EHR applications with Dragon Speech Recognition integration.

* Act as a positive influence to support change adaptation for all end users.

20%: Provides Provider training and education

* Provides demonstrations/presentations of the clinical systems software to key user groups.

* Effectively trains and educates other support staff and/or providers as assigned with resulting understanding, consistent and correct utilization by users.

* Effectively communicates complex and technical subject matter to non-technical end users in an effective and supportive manner.

30%: Collaborates with others in the design, development, build, dissemination and utilization of Epic reports or the Nuance Management Console (NMC) and Nuance reports for the Dragon Administrator.

* Demonstrates knowledge of EHR applications, databases and clinic workflows.

* Develops and documents procedures pertaining to Dragon Speech Recognition workflow.

* Monitors utilization system logs to ensure utilization is at Ardent standard.

* Helps to develop and/update or maintain documentation on system setup for physician use.

* Demonstrates knowledge of the EMR, NMC and provider workflows within EPIC

* Develops and documents procedures and training material pertaining to Dragon

* Participates in analyzing, testing and implementing software upgrades related to Dragon software

* Monitors Nuance reports for DMO use working to increase utilization of the system for dictation and commands

10%: Provides consultative services and acts as a knowledge expert on projects which integrate with the EHR, for example Haiku/Canto and Dragon integration.

* Effectively manage tasks and time.

20%: Continually expands self and team knowledge of Dragon Speech Recognition and Epic integration.

* Displays curiosity about what Epic and other systems could do, not what they are currently doing.

* Demonstrates timely, effective and efficient troubleshooting of end user questions/complaints.

* Independently provides answers to the majority of end user questions without further consultation.

* Regularly communicates evidence of being knowledgeable about the Epic application.

* Keeps self-updated on Epic applications through reading, meeting attendance, continuing education and professional networking.

* Keeps up to date with release notes and participates in upgrade planning and implementation.

5%: Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Work Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in related field of study; relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for one another in accordance to policy

Four (4) years of related experience of which two (2) years must have been in a management capacity.

Preferred Education and Work Experience:

*

Skill in performance improvement processes and methods
*

Knowledge of design specifications and system maintenance for Epic applications
*

Previous experience as a project manager
*

Prefer formal training and certification in Epic applications
