Job Requirements



  • Candidate shall have minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training in packaging systems design and integration for food, beverage, consumer products and/or pharmaceutical applications.

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in engineering related discipline; other fields considered with relevant work experience.

  • Effective communication skills are required to support coordination amongst customers, vendors, sub-contractors and other project team members.

  • Must possess advanced computer skills including the ability to utilize AutoCAD for development of equipment general arrangements, throughput calculations, and flow diagrams

Essential Functions



  • Lead packaging systems integration efforts across project lifecycle including; development of forward-thinking system concepts, identify vendor supported designs, overall systems integration, budget development and management, and coordination with associated project disciplines for installation, start-up and commissioning.

  • Develop relationships with key vendor suppliers and design/installation partners

  • Support customer packaging material development through knowledge of leading packaging formats and available systems to meet throughput requirements and budget constraints

  • General understanding of AGV/Robot and ASRS material handling systems and how they integrate with packaging systems

  • Knowledge of packaging materials and equipment common to food, beverage and consumer products industry – including high speed filling and sealing equipment and secondary quality control, case packing and palletizing equipment

  • Understanding of machine and control systems design best practices and how selections or specifications impact the customers operations and maintainability.

  • Ability to develop technical specifications and bid packages for equipment, systems and installations – manage bid analysis for presentation and recommendation to customer, award work to vendors and sub-contractors.

  • General ability to manage projects including scope, budget, schedule and associated vendor, sub-contractor and customer interactions.

  • Candidates should be able to complete projects without help from others but may also be responsible for managing multiple projects, vendors, customer relationships and larger teams.

  • Ability to manage vendors and sub-contractors onsite through installation, commissioning and training to successful systems turnover to customer

  • Responsible for the communication, implementation and enforcement of Gray’s safety program while onsite.
