If you are a sustaining engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Boulder, Colorado location, you will independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures using sound judgment to make minor modifications and adaptations. 
 
AS A SUSTAINING ENGINEER, YOU WILL: 


  • Develop and maintain functional test systems used at electronic manufacturers

  • Work with electronic suppliers to deploy testers

  • Design circuits and create schematics for test systems

  • Troubleshoot electronics

  • Implement circuit level changes into production include all required paperwork

  • Determine the nature and scope of assigned projects, as well as budget and schedule parameters, and delegate appropriately to developmental engineers

  • Ensure the appropriate background information, such as part designs, materials specifications, and governing code requirements, has been researched and incorporated into the design effort

  • Coordinate with other disciplines involved in the project as necessary

  • Attend progress briefings and coordination checks to discuss the engineering effort and project status

  • Prepare studies and reports when appropriate

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required

  • At least two years' professional/post college relevant engineering experience, in which a good working knowledge of standard engineering principles, techniques and applications has been obtained

  • Direct hands-on experience with PCBAs and electronic components

  • Must have strong technical skills in appropriate engineering field, and a demonstrated track record of successfully assisting with and completing engineering projects

  • Acquainted with programming fundamentals (C or LabVIEW preferred)

  • Familiar with circuit simulation software (PSpice)

  • Practical experience with test equipment (Oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters)

  • Experience with component management systems

  • Some travel required

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this position

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • Experience using LabVIEW is a plus
