Job Description

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor will oversee the successful manufacturing of complex, high tech robotic systems in a fast paced, low volume/high mix manufacturing environment.  The role will be responsible for managing and motivating 20-25 production employees while meeting cost, schedule, and quality requirements for the business.  The position requires a hands-on leader with a strong work ethic and broad technical and administrative experience in a manufacturing environment.  This position will be in a warehouse environment with some outdoor activities related to testing and fielding equipment

Job Duties:

• Supervise day to day production staff and manufacturing work.


• Plan, monitor, coach, counsel, and evaluate performance of production employees, providing feedback/coaching as needed.


• Monitor and manage production performance through goal setting, key performance indicators (KPI’s), and data analytics. 


• Utilize critical thinking, problem solving skills, and root cause analysis to drive continuous manufacturing improvements.


• Participate in hiring and communication/training of job expectations for new hires.


• Oversee general upkeep of production floor and monitor safety protocols.


• Encourage and participate in employee career development.

• Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.


• 5-10 years of manufacturing experience with 2-3+ years of experience supervising a manufacturing/production floor; electro-mechanical manufacturing experience highly preferred.


• Experience in Lean Manufacturing with a focus on implementation and sustainment.


• Electrical or communication background with an understanding of electrical theory, general networking protocols, and experience with testing equipment.


• Excellent communication skills.


• 2-3 years of experience with SAP preferred and strong Microsoft Office skills.


• Certification IPC-620, IPC 610, J-Standard (current or expired) and/or experience in an ISO controlled environment preferred.


• Forklift certification/experience.


• Served on a safety committee.


• Associates Degree or higher in an electronic or technical field preferred.
