The Job
The Digital Content Director will help define and implement the content strategy for SwearBy.com, the word-of-mouth recommendations platform for the best products that women honestly swear by. The objective of this position is to create engaging and on-brand content to complement the user-generated recommendations created by SwearBy's community of contributors, focusing on interest topics such as beauty, wellness, style, kid/baby, home and books/apps.

This role will work closely with the editorial and growth vertical leads to meet our KPIs and brand goals. She/he will have exceptional editing and writing skills and be adept at creating content that's authentic, data-driven, brand-aligned, and a new digital audience.

They will work with stakeholders across the digital and print organization to ideate editorial programs and franchises that drive engaged audiences and create meaningful sponsorship opportunities.

The ideal candidate also has experience managing a budget, producing and/or appearing as talent in video and photo shoots, overseeing social media, and using analytics tools like Google Analytics and Chartbeat. She/he must be highly organized, collaborative, and adept at using analytics and current SEO and social best practices to make editorial decisions.

Job Functions
- Devise a content strategy for SwearBy, architeching and executing against a well-organized content calendar.
- Write and oversee content on the SwearBy platform, driving meaningful increases in traffic and affiliate revenue.
- Oversee freelance strategy including assigning stories, editing, and managing budget.
- Ensure all published content is optimized for affiliate revenue.
- Support sales initiatives with strong brand-forward ideas; plan and oversee execution of major digital tentpoles
- Serve as an editorial authority of SwearBy, representing among the community, industry, and in social media, where/when needed.
- Assist with copy needs across SwearBy marketing communications.

Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or related field.

Experience: 5+ years experience managing digital editorial and affiliate content at a media company. A portfolio of work must be provided in order to be considered.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of affiliate marketing and SEO best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to grow and scale readership/community.
- Experience analyizing data to guide strategic content decisions.
- Ability to work within content management systems.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced and matrixed organization.
- Must maintain a presence on social media and enjoy communicating with communities on social platforms such as Instagram.
- Must be interested in online shopping and products.
- Must be creative yet organized and strategic.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
