Mission:
Quantum is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Software Developer to develop and maintain our organization's systems software and computing infrastructure. In this position you will be working with state of the art technology. You will also have an opportunity to work with up-and-coming technology. The services Quantum provides range from software development, Cyber Security, and deployed applications. Your expertise in the craft of programming will assist our organization in increasing efficiency and service through construction, maintenance, and streamlining of our computing systems and programs.
The ideal candidate for this role must possess superior coding skills, excellent communication, and experience across the Software Development Life Cycle, good task management, and superior problem solving and trouble shooting skills to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of systems, resolve errors, and design programs that are customized to our organization's needs.
Responsibilities:
- Managing systems performance, provide software technical support, review, audit and update existing programs
- Identify/correct defects, support data architecture, generating reports, developing in-house software, and mitigating potential risk
- Coordinate with system users to identify and implement needed capabilities
- Develop, test, and implement software solutions, and maintain and debug software
- Design software solutions, write code, tests and deploys software
- Prepare technical and procedural documentation required for software
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- BS degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Programming or equivalent degree. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree with proven record of experience
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience working in a software development related field
- End user oriented with expert IT skills and strong aptitude for math
- Advanced knowledge of operating systems and Java, C++, SQL, C#, and HTML experience
- Must be deadline driven with expert IT skills, analytical, problem solving skills and aptitude for learning new technology
- Superior communication skills and ability to work in austere conditions for limited periods
- Willing to travel as needed/ required
- Must have active DoD SECRET clearance, maintain clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Competencies:
- Application Design, Architecture Knowledge of application design activities, tools and techniques; ability to utilize these to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design
- Application Development Tools Knowledge of and ability to utilize a variety of specific tools and toolkits for the development and support of applications
- Application Maintenance Knowledge of and ability to define, implement changes to, and support a production application
- Application Testing Knowledge of application testing and ability to design, plan and execute application testing strategies and tactics to ensure software quality throughout all stages of application development
- Technical Writing/Documentation Knowledge of the technical language and writing approach, and the ability to write paper-based and on-line technical reference documentation (guidelines, standards, procedures, processes, applications, etc.)
Additional Desired Requirements:
- Familiarity with at least two other programming languages
- Eagerness to learn new languages and technologies
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux, basic understanding of network architecture, traffic, and protocols
- Experience working with Amazon Web Services
- Basic understanding of electronics (microcontrollers, sensors, etc.),basic understanding of radio and telecommunications
- Experience in Android mobile app development, Docker Virtualization, VMware, Hyper-V and other container tools experience
